Yes, a Shimano 8-speed screw-on cassette is interchangeable with an 8-speed road bike screw-on cassette from Sachs. As long as both cassettes have the same number of speeds and use the same type of attachment (screw-on), they should be compatible with each other. It's important to make sure that the spacing and tooth profile of the cogs are also compatible to ensure smooth shifting and proper chain engagement. **

No, you do not need an 8 mm dowel and an 80 x 10 mm screw for an 8 mm hole. The dowel and screw sizes should match the size of the hole they are being inserted into. In this case, an 8 mm dowel and an 8 mm screw would be more appropriate for an 8 mm hole to ensure a proper fit and secure connection. **

To drill into a stainless steel screw, you will need to use a drill bit specifically designed for drilling into metal. Start by marking the spot where you want to drill and then use a center punch to create a small indentation to guide the drill bit. Use a slow speed and steady pressure when drilling to avoid overheating the metal. It's important to use cutting fluid or lubricant to reduce friction and heat buildup. Be patient and take your time to ensure a clean and precise hole in the stainless steel screw. **
